The first kombi/bus model CLIPPER started to be manufactured in Brazil in 1976 New front with simple windshield, front doors same as the European version, which gained windows that could be lowered by cranks, and larger rear lights, contrasting with the central doors that were not changed to sliding doors, as well as all the windows after the front doors to the rear, which remained the same as the previous version, thus creating a mix between the first and second German generation and thus being the only one in the world with this configuration. The engine was now a single 1,600cc carburetor.  The instrument panel was completely new, the same as the European version, as were the steering wheel and bumpers. The bodywork was reinforced, giving the model more strength.
